Birding
January 2018

In January 2018, June and I discovered the wonderful world of birds, thanks to David!

When in the presence of a knowledgeable and passionate guide, a world of wonder slowly but surely unfolds. "Look over there, about 50 yards out, toward that hill, just to the left of path. On the top of that lone tree is an American Kestral."

As we train our binoculars and zoomed camera lens in that direction, a named creature comes to life. "This is a bird of prey searching for it's next meal." We learn about it's behaviors, it's preferences, it's predators and it's prey. In minutes, what was an almost invisible dot in the distance, becomes full of personality. And the stories and personalities that share the landscape and sky-scape continue to unfold over the following hours.
