New York City  2004

On July 4th, 2004, Chris, Brett, Brad, and myself met up with Lindsey in NY city. We stayed there for three nights, drove her car to Boston for three nights, then to Albany to drop off her and her camera. I took a video of the entire trip, but that only gets viewed occasionally. Lindsey took most of these pictures. Later she discovered that she was carrying Josie on this trip. She was sick, but what a trooper! (Lindsey).

New York - Everyday we took a bus from Jersey, under the Lincoln tunnel, into the city. We spent a LOT of time walking and taking the subway in Manhattan. And then back to Jersey in the evening.

We got in to JFK on the morning of July 4th. Since we were in the neighborhood, we decided to spend some time at Coney Island. It was before noon, but the beach was already getting busy. Lots of old people parading up and down the beach. You should see the video. Brett had to jump in.

We headed for the fireworks show on the East River. We got there plenty early to watch the day's proceedings. This was part of it; the traditional spraying of colored water. We are looking across the river at Long Island.

We took a 4-hr. boat cruise around Manhattan Island. This spectacular view of the Statue of Liberty was accompanied by 30 minutes of Lady Liberty trivia. Again, its ALL on video.

Again from the boat, the United Nations building.

I don't remember what bridge this is, but I do remember how to remember the bridges over the East River. BMW -- From the south, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Washington. I think this is Manhattan.

We spent an afternoon riding bikes from a small bike shop on the upper East side through Central Park. Very Cool!

While we were they, the weather was perfect. Mild and not too humid.

We spent one morning downtown - the spot of the World Trade Center. No picture though - not much to see. This is the bull on Wall Street.

Chris and Brett seemed far more interested in the backside.

Of course, it was inevitable; the dreaded trip to the top of the Empire  State Building. Looking southeast, across the Hudson. The Statue in the distance.

Brett checking out the pigeons nesting. He was very comfortable.

Of course, there is the gift shop at the top.

More walking down Broadway.

Dave was not available, but we did visit Rupert G. Chris was totally embarassed.

Took a subway one evening, through Harlem, to the Bronx to take in a Yankee game. George Constanza was not working that night.

It was $5 night for the nose bleed section. a highlight was watching people coming up the stairs trip on ONE stair that was 2 inches higher than all the others.

Just good fun!

The Yankees went on to play Boston for the American League Pennant that year.

Good Bye NY!

Boston - that a' way  ==>
