We flew to Kauai on June 15th, 2024 and stayed at the Kiahuna Plantation Resort Poipu in 3 condos with Brandon, Alicia, and their cohorts (Moye, Garrett, Rumika, Reed, Cora, and Isla ). A great time was had by all!
We met Alicia and crew at a little fish taco/shave ice /market close to our condos while waiting for our check in time. We swung by Snorkel Bobs to pick up our snorkel gear and looky boogie boards(built in mask) for the week and checked into our places. We headed down to see the beach, and went across the street to check out the pool/slide at the Athletic club. This was a big hit with the kids, so we stayed and ate dinner at the grill there....and Isla fell fast asleep in her chair.
The next morning, we crossed the street to a very popular coffee shack/acai bowl breakfast spot called Little Fish, with rogue chickens that weren't afraid of stealing your food. Thoroughly entertaining to the kids. We spent the day at our beach swimming, trying out the gear, playing in the sand.
We had many fine dinners hosted by Brandon, Alicia, and Gary.....with a few free hula shows afterward. The highlight might have been at Keoki Paradise with a front row seat of the music and dance.
Garrett and Gary played golf at two courses: Poipu Bay and Makai in Princeville. While they played, the rest of us explored. Brandon and crew went down the ancient irrigation ditches in tubes one day, while Alicia, myself, and the girls toured the old Plantation by train. We all visited Spouting horn, some views of Waimea canyon, Hanapepe and the famous swinging bridge, and the town known for Stitch of course.
Many days included time back at the pool or beach for more wave jumping and sliding. We flew back on the 22nd, and immediately missed the lovely Hawaii vibe, myna birds (except in the morning sleeping!) rogue chickens, geckos, beautiful flowers and tropical plants, beautiful warm clear water........until the next island.
