Acapulco 2010

June invited me to come along on her annual January get-away to Acapulco. How could I resist?

Belive it or not, this is the ONLY picture I had with all of us.

From left, myself, June, her brother Steve, and his girlfriend Cherlynn.

Being an 'all-inclusive' package, it was non-stop drinking and eating, at least for the first 3 days for me. Then I caught a dose of 'Montezuma's revenge'. That slowed me down considerably.

This was at a "free sample" bar at the duty free shop in Acapulco.

From the pool area, a view of where we stayed - the Fairmont Princess -  Nice joint!

Ceiling of the main lobby at night. Kinda cool.

One of several swimming pools. Nice joint!

Rope bridge going to Chula Vista - spanning one of the swimming pools. I avoided this bridge during my 2-day 'slow down'.

Another view from the pool - June's pretty left foot.

The Beach

View of the beach at sunset from the hotel.

On the beach.

Steve likes to body surf. June and I prefer a Boogie board.

Steve catches a wave. You can barely see him in there.

The girls greet him with the traditional gate welcome.

June, Cherlynn, and the most photographed parrot in Acapulco.

Eating out!

Cherlynn and Steve

Speaking of food..this showed up on a plate that June ordered. Something between a lobster and a crawdad. She attacked it like it was her last meal (kidding).

Everywhere is a party. This little gig was in our most-visited dining area -  Chula Vista.

Golf

We played 3.5 rounds of golf while we were there.  2.5 at the home course of the hotel.

Steve is an 8 handicap, so he pretty much showed us how it was done.

The Fairmont home course. Very nice!

The following pictures are from our last round at Tres Vidas.

Beautiful course, and very hard. Moguls, sand, and water everywhere.

Thanks to June for these pics!

Hole #1 - a par 5 with an island green. Steve and I both went way to the back of the green, then chipped back downhill. Painful!

Hole #3 - par 3, 176 yds. I used too much club (4 wood?) and went WAY over the green.

Hole #6 - Talk about sand! Ocean on the right. Steve and I both hit up against the wall in front of the green and took a drop.

Hole #9 - heading for the ocean. June played great this day. Mostly safe and down the middle.

Hmmm.. orange shirt and orange ball. Coincidence? I think not.

Hole #12 - maybe the best shot of the day for me. Played about 180 yds. into the wind. I had about 10 ft. for birdie. Missed it!

Hole #15 - Looks like my weight is on my front foot. Better fix that!
