On Monday, Chelsea treated us all to a boat ride out to Stingray city in the North Sound. For many years, fisherman would clean their fish in this same spot just inside the barrier reef. Over the years, stingray would gather and feed on the easy pickins. Now, tour boats feed the stingrays while swimming in the shallow water with them.
Cap'n Charlie Easy going Jamaican dude. "No worries, mon". |
Ricky his sidekick. I think he is part stingray. He moves around them like he is family. |
Brett (14 yrs) a little nervous maybe, but what a trooper! |
My sweetie...thanks for the adventure! |
Chris (20 yrs) right at home in the water. He was a blast to have around. Very entertaining for us all. |
Here is what they look like under the water. |
Chris, Ricky, Chels, and Brett, with stingray. |
Chelsea holding one. |
Brett 'holding" one. Chris held one, we all fed them, and we all had a great time. From here we rode a short way to a beautiful, pristine, snorkel site. It was cool watching Charlie and Ricky swim with the fish so casually, like they have been doing it their whole life. |
