The Hike

Sunday, we took Dennis, Mary, and Alex to see the Giants - Padres game at Scottsdale (Giants) stadium. I wish I had taken a picture of the way they packed us into the bleachers. UNBELIEVABLE! We sat with total strangers closer than anyone could imagine. There we NO private conversations. You had to tell someone when you were going to move a body part.

Couldn't take that for too long, and we eventually found some better seats...

That's better...

Anyhow, after the game, Michael, Chris, and I took a short hike up Camelback Mountain. Sunday, we walked up the other side (not shown here) to the 'bump' on the left.

Tuesday, Chris and I walked up the right side along the ridge to the top.

This is the start. There is a line to get into the parking lot. Mic dropped us off.

The bars - a short, but steep, climb. Chris and Mike in the red circle. This is the 'bump" that was mentioned in the first picture of the mountain.

Chris demonstrates his flare for fashion. The "bump" is at his back.

Mike demonstrates his flare for...flex.

After about 45 minutes, we got as far as we could for the day. We had this much more to go. Look closely and you can see a red circle near the top in the middle. There are people speckled all along the way, but these are the most visible.

Tuesday, Chris and I went from the other side of the mountain to the top. About halfway up there is a bit of a flat area. Chris (little red circle) wasn't waiting for the old man.

At the top - finally. It took about 1:15 hr of very creepy walking.

Here is a video of the freaky walk along the ridge.

On Monday, Dennis took us golfing at SunRidge Canyon. Very nice!!

Chris shows nice form for a new golfer. This was just a couple of days after the rain and snow, so the hills were beautiful.

The area is known for this giant fountain. This is the desert, remember.

One of my best shots of the day, so what the heck - take a picture. Too bad the ball is too small to see it - about 120 inches from the cup.

Thankfully, Chris was there to cheer me on. Cheers!
