The Wires

This page is about one of my favorite places, Shiloh Regional Park, about two miles from my home. I have been enjoying this park since we moved to Windsor in '98. Dogs are not allowed there which is why not many people go there - one of the reasons I enjoy it - along with the incredible beauty.

I affectionately call it 'The Wires' because a set of power lines are strung through the park.

Map of my favorite walk - the red line around in a circle. The yellow line is a shortcut straight up the side of a big hill. 'X' marks the spot of a great view. See video

Just starting out, close to the parking lot, a private gazebo and water tank.

Wild Iris --spring is a wonderful time

A nice overlook.  You can see wires to the right of the tree.

Looking north, Mt St Helena in the background, the frog pond and trail in the foreground.

Geese and little ducklings at the frog pond.

My favorite part of the walk...

...down the Creekside trail, one mile back to the parking lot.

On the flat ground back to the parking lot.
