This page is about one of my favorite places, Shiloh Regional Park, about two miles from my home. I have been enjoying this park since we moved to Windsor in '98. Dogs are not allowed there which is why not many people go there - one of the reasons I enjoy it - along with the incredible beauty.
I affectionately call it 'The Wires' because a set of power lines are strung through the park.
Map of my favorite walk - the red line around in a circle. The yellow line is a shortcut straight up the side of a big hill. 'X' marks the spot of a great view. See video |
Just starting out, close to the parking lot, a private gazebo and water tank. |
Wild Iris --spring is a wonderful time |
A nice overlook. You can see wires to the right of the tree. |
Looking north, Mt St Helena in the background, the frog pond and trail in the foreground. |
Geese and little ducklings at the frog pond. |
My favorite part of the walk... |
...down the Creekside trail, one mile back to the parking lot. |
On the flat ground back to the parking lot. |
