In July, we were joined by Alicia. We did the usual hiking, biking, swimming, and sailing.
For the 4th, we went to Tahoe City and found a small patch of lawn where
we watched the fireworks.
After that, Dan came up to do some tree cutting work. There were several dead trees on the property, so we spent several hours dropping and slicing them. We still managed to get some time sailing. Of course, we had the usual meal and drinks at Sunnyside for June's and his birthdays.
In September, we went up to the cabin with Jim and Pam Kerr, friends from Gary's work. We invited them up because we were going to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks with them at this time, but fortunately, Pam had the foresight to check the weather first. She discovered, and we confirmed, that visibility was horrible due to smoke from fires raging across the Northwest.
But, we had a nice long weekend with the Kerrs. The ladies dropped Jim and I off at Barker Pass. They walked up a ways toward Twin Peaks, while Jim and I headed up to Ellis Peak. From there, we walked down to Homewood and eventually the cabin. That was the first, and so far only time, that I have walked to or from Ellis Peak and the cabin, so now I know how.
June and I took a nice walk out the East side of Sugarpine State park to the site of the Olympic winter games.
We also managed to do some sailing.
