Farrell Tahoe Vacation

It all started when June and I were invited to spend a week with our good friends in Zihuatanejo, Mexico. Geoff rented a beautiful house on the ocean for his daughter and her husband, and his two siblings and their families. It was such a great experience that I thought how nice it would be to have my own kids together somewhere for a week.

We explored many options, Shasta Lake being the one in the middle for all of us. Jamie would have to drive only 4 hours with Kailey. I rented a house there and we were starting to make plans when I convinced Jamie that maybe we could work it out so she wouldn't have to drive at all if she flew into Reno, then I drive her to Lake Tahoe. In the end, I rented Lindsey's family a cabin close by the Robinson cabin, and we all had a great time.

Except for Chris.He and Teresa took a 2-week vacation to Portugal with Marco, then upon returning, they would busy looking for a place to move in the following week.

June and I got to the cabin in time to spend a couple of days with Steve and Sheryln. Then, we had a couple days with Geoff and Sue. The following week (July 15-22) was spent with the clan. As we usually have Dan come up to help celebrate birthdays, he managed to break free and join us.

Almost every evening, some or most of us hung out around the campfire tossing Cornhole and later watching a movie on the big screen. Marielle became a fierce competitor at Cornhole.

• Saturday (15) I drove to the airport with Dan to pickup Jamie. Lindsey and the crew got in shortly after we got back. Brett came in later that evening.
• Sunday (16) we hiked up to Quail Lake from the cabin. June bet against the girls making it, but they flew up the hills. Jamie stayed behind with Kailey. We then went to the lake and eventually, the pool. Later, we went into Tahoe City for the music on the beach. We ate dinner at Hacienda.
• Monday (17) - We all hiked to the overlook at Barker Pass, a slightly more manageable hike. Then we all went to the pool.
• Tuesday (18) - Jamie's friend Janel came to visit for the day. We again went to the pool. That evening, Dan taught the girls how to play black-jack. Lindsey brought many pairs of flip-flops for the girls to decorate and pass out for birthday gifts.
• Wednesday (19) - We rode bikes up Barker Pass to the bridge. Dan, June, and I rode back and stopped in at Fleuer de Lac, the compound where The Godfather was filmed. Wes left. Later, we took everyone out to sail except Jamie.
• Thursday (20) - Dan left. Brett and Em drove to Carson City to visit Em's Grandma. Josette, Adrienne, and myself rode bikes to a craft fair in Homewood and everyone else walked. Jamie and Kailey took a nap while everyone else hung out at the pool and sailed.
  
• Friday (21) - Brett and Em left. The rest of us drove to Sugarloaf State Park where Lindsey rented Josette an Adrienne SUPs. The rest of us hung out on the shore, and eventually swam in the lake. Wes returned later that evening.
• Sat (22) - I drove Jamie and Kailey to the airport and Lindsey, Wes and the family left.
• Sunday - June and I cleaned the cabin and left late that evening.
