The Hotel

We stayed at the Grand Mayan, a very nice place for which June traded her time share week.

San Jose Del Cabo

This is the town square.

It is a very short drive from the hotel.

We ate in town almost every night.

An open-air art shop

We shopped at the Mega store, kind of like a Wal Mart with fresh food.

Looks like snorkeling, huh?

Cabo San Lucas

Downtown Cabo San Lucas, about 40 minutes drive from San Jose Del Cabo.

We drove it twice. This is where Los Arcos is located.

The beach at Cabo San Lucas looking toward Los Arcos. We took a water taxi out to Los Arcos. Includes a short tour of the area, a drop-off and pick up some time later.

The Arches.

A rock they call Scooby-doo.

From the other side of the rock, they point out the "pregnant witch". I guess they gotta show you something on the short tour.

Fortunately, we saw a pod of whales while we were out there. Check out the video.

Dropped us at Pelican Beach.

Great snorkeling!

We walked right by this lovely statue outside the marina mall.

We walked a little further, and I thought, "Was that a tip jar?"  I turned around.

Cabo Pulmo

We heard that this place has the best snorkeling in the area. So we took the 1.5 hr (one-way) drive north, then east and south for 30 minutes on dirt road. It was well worth it! On the map , this is the place with the A marker.

This was taken with June's underwater (film) camera.

The other dirt drive

Toward the end of our trip, we were really feeing adventurous and took a drive east of San Jose del Cabo up a dirt road to La Fortuna.

This is our trusty car. We put 560 kilometers on it.

As my brother Mike once said (and I have quoted many times):

"Nothing rides like a rental!"

We were on a dirt road for about 30 km (one-way. It was extremely isolated with miles of beautiful beach, sprinkled with small communities of gorgeous homes.

Probably not wild burros, but pretty close. A nice, completely vacant beach in the background.
